MY VIDEO PRODUCTION ORIGIN STORY
I’m David Lee Whitty III. I was born in Orlando, FL, and I graduated from Eustis High School. As a sophomore, I took a class called TV Production. This is where my journey with videography began.
My senior year of high school was filled with a variety of video projects such as weddings, documentaries, short films, and podcast episodes. Also, for the first time in my life, I was hired to create a commercial for a local business.
FILMMAKING AT FSU
When applying to colleges, I had one place in mind: Florida State University. Here, I studied a variety of video production skills: stop motion animation, documentary video production, graphic design, 3D animation, 360° videography, and narrative filmmaking. In 2021, I graduated with a degree in Digital Media Production.
Right out of college, I began working at FSU’s Torchlight Center: a lab for a growing film technique called Virtual Production. During that process, I helped install and test their massive LED wall.
WHITTY MEDIA GROUP
In November of 2022, I began a full-time commitment to running Whitty Media Group!
Since then, video production has brought me all over the world, from Nova Scotia to Taiwan, filming commercials and corporate documentaries. Still, many gigs were completed close to home. I’ve worked with farmers, educators, investors, tech companies, real estate agents, and more.
